When looking for a therapist, I understand the difficulty of making the decision and finding a therapist you can connect with. I offer a comfortable and honest environment to discuss your goals and we will work together in order for therapy to be helpful and effective for you. I offer a place to learn and develop tools and techniques that are research based. Also, as a relationship oriented therapist, I often help with healthy communication and closer relationships with couples and families.
I graduated from Colorado State University in 2011 with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. After graduation, I have been practicing therapy in a variety of different settings and have experiences with children, adolescents, families, and couples. I've worked in a residential treatment facility for teenagers, a nonprofit for sexual abuse victims, hospitals, schools and I've been in private practice. I also facilitated a couples workshop at Colorado State University using an evidence based couples therapy model called Emotional Focused Therapy. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist registered through DORA.
Methods I use include EMDR, DBT, CBT, experiential therapy, and art therapy. Along with these therapy modalities, I also use Neurofeedback which is backed in Neuroscience. Neurofeedback aids in reducing symptoms and optimizes the function of the brain which can assist in furthering the therapeutic process at a faster rate.
Aside from counseling, I enjoy spending time running, biking, being creative, and being with my family. I recently have started my parenting journey which has inspired me to become more trained and specialized in the area of postpartum and birth trauma. I've also adopted a greater understanding of what goes in the world of motherhood and want other moms to feel supported in their journey.
